FAQs
Who are you?
I’m Julie Taraska, a brand strategist, content strategist, copywriter, and content creator.
Why should I hire you?
I translate complex topics into understandable words. I create content that drives sales. I differentiate your brand. I develop your core messages. Plus, I make your value proposition crystal clear.
Which services do you offer?
My services fall into three main categories: brand messaging; content strategy; and market expansion. There are specific offerings under each rubric, so we can tailor the solution to your needs. I sometimes also create omni-channel content (thought leadership, white papers, sales materials, email campaigns, et al.) as an add-on to these services.
With which industries do you work?
The brands I work with are involved in design, tech, and sustainability. They come from a wide range of industries: SaaS, healthcare, greentech, fintech, architecture, lighting, product design, materials research, and commercial furniture,
Are your clients small, medium, or large brands?
My clients are mid- to large-size. All are undergoing a change, be it rapid growth, a rebranding, a reorganization, or recalibration for a bumpy economy.
Do you use AI?
Sometimes, for brainstorming and first iterations. But given AI regurgitates what already has been created, my use of it ends there.
Do you charge by the hour or by the project?
By the project. It makes more sense for both of us, as you’ll know exactly what the price will be, and I won’t have an incentive to work slower for more pay.
How much do projects cost?
It varies based on scope. Projects start at $2,500 and go up from there. Get in touch, and I’ll provide a customized quote.
Can I put you on a retainer?
Yes. The minimum commitment is 10 hours per week for four weeks. Get in touch for a custom plan and quote.
What is your payment structure?
I require 50% of the project fee upon the signing of our Statement of Work (SOW). The other 50% is due within 15 calendar days of the project’s completion.
Where are you based?
I live in Portland, Oregon, but frequently travel to New York and Europe—two places where I have lived for many years.
Did you really interview a former member of the Sex Pistols?
Yes. Glen Matlock. He was the band’s original bassist and was unceremoniously dumped to make way for Sid Vicious. Ten years later a mutual friend brought him to my birthday party. It was pretty funny.
